Movie Review: Tangled

I love Disney movies and I like their typical adaptation of fairy tales. All of the Disney movies so far are quite musical; however I do get annoyed by songs, when they are composed on some silly stuff. Anyways, I got to see this animation movie "Tangled" by Disney and really loved it. The movie is again Disney's adaption of the famous fairy tale of "Rapunzel and her long hair". The story has been twisted and given the typical Disney touch with beautiful animation, fascinating characters and lovely music. I won't tell the story here of course, but would love to introduce you to certain characters of the movie:

1) Rapunzel:

The protagonist of the story, the blonde princess with magically long hair that could glow and heal.

2) Rapunzel's pet Chameleon:

Rapunzel and her pet - "the chameleon" are inseparable. As a matter of fact, the chameleon is the only friend of Rapunzel throughout the story.

3) The King and the Queen:
Rapunzel's parents

4) The old witch:

She is the main vamp of the story and responsible for Rapunzel's 18 years long stay in a tower. On yes, she plays much more evil role than that in the movie.

5) Flynn Rider (Eugene):

Unlike the original fairy tale, he is a thief, though a handsome one who gets dragged to Rapunzel by the destiny (in fact by the director and story writer). The story goes on as a business deal between Flynn and Rapunzel and their interesting journey to Rapunzel's dream, after which they fell in love with each other.

6) Maximus:

My favorite character of the movie. He is the palace's horse, who keeps on chasing Flynn till the first half of the movie but then agrees to help Rapunzel and Flynn in fulfilling Rapunzel's "dream" and finally becomes a loyal friend to them.

Overall: Tangled is a light, fun, musical movie that has all the Disney elements like love, sacrifice, beauty, fun and a "live happily forever" ending. I loved the movie along with its characters. I find the "Healing incantation" quite divine and soothing. However, I find some of the musical melodies somewhat annoying, like the song in which the witch warns Rapunzel against the thief Flynn. The movie grips you all along as it goes, and I won’t mind watching it again.

Rating: 4.5/5
