My thoughts on "The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM)" by Hal Elrod
In order to fix my sleep issues, I've been doing a bit of research and I recently read the book "The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM)" by Hal Elrod, which I borrowed from my sister. Here are my thoughts about the book:
The premise of the book is simple: wake up early and start your day with a set of six habits, known as the SAVERS - Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, and Scribing. By practicing these habits every morning, Elrod argues, you can improve your physical and mental health, increase your productivity, and ultimately transform your life.
At first, I was skeptical, coz I am already an early morning person and didn't know what added benefits this book might give. However, as life went on, my morning routine stayed the same though night and sleep have changed drastically. The main reason for getting this book was to be able to get some tips to fix my sleep schedule and wake up early anyway, but more refreshed and rejuvenated rather than looking like an angry tired pigeon.
As I read on, Elrod's enthusiasm for the subject matter became infectious. He uses a combination of personal anecdotes, scientific research, and practical tips to show the reader the benefits of implementing the Miracle Morning routine.
One of the things I appreciated about this book is the practicality of the advice. Elrod doesn't just tell you to wake up early and start your day with the SAVERS, he also provides tips on how to make the transition easier. For example, he suggests gradually waking up earlier over the course of a few weeks, rather than trying to do it all at once.
Elrod also emphasizes the importance of self-care in the Miracle Morning routine. He encourages the reader to take care of their physical and mental health through exercise, meditation and reading. As someone who often neglects self-care in favor of productivity, this was a wake-up call for me.
But it's not just about self-care. The Miracle Morning routine can also improve your productivity and success. Elrod argues that by starting your day with a set of intentional habits, you are setting yourself up for success throughout the day. I have started implementing some of the techniques, and they keep me somewhat happy and peaceful throughout the day. I still need to wait to see the results in long run.
Overall, I do recommend “The Miracle Morning” to anyone looking to improve their physical and mental health, increase their productivity, or transform their life. Elrod's enthusiasm for the subject matter is contagious, and his practical advice makes it easy to implement the Miracle Morning routine into your own life.
As Elrod says in the book, "How you wake up each day and your morning routine (or lack thereof) dramatically affects your levels of success in every single area of your life." So why not give it a try? Wake up early, start your day with the SAVERS, and see the miracles that can happen in your life.
