Dreaming of weird/imaginary creatures

Yesterday night, I dreamt of a creature that was a mixed specie of a Godzilla and a Dragon. I don't know what that signifies, just the fact that whole night I was running across many shallow rivers, and I fell a lot coz it was quite dark. I could hear people panicking and running around and somewhere in periphery I could see the creature roaring, belching enormous fire and making people shout more. The place was near some Indian spiritual and holy area. I don't remember the name. However, what I remember after waking up was lots of body pain, fatigue as if I had ran a marathon whole night and swellings around my eyes owing to the lack of any sound sleep.
I think, now I can easily blame the stupid TV shows that come at night, and to my stupider self for watching those hopeless TV programs, just before going to sleep. Atleast, such kind of behavior should not be expected from my "enlightened" self, when I very well know about the whole business of this subconscious programing, etc.

Nevertheless, such dreams make me think about the possibilities of human imagination. Obviously, the dream I mentioned above was nothing sort of "creative" or different in any ways. Still, they can tell about the power and destructive potential that hits at the core of our being. We are confronted by a sense of angst or loss from these unknown dangers through these creatures. These fantacy creatures can be good too (instead of being monsters all the time). I remember once seeing a combination of our pet parrot and a rabbit, creating a whole new specie of another mythological creature. I loved cuddling and playing with it, which I called "Toggy"(may be). I may paint it sometime soon.

  1. To see a chimera in your dream, represents a feeling of confusion. You need to sort out your thoughts and emotions.

  2. Mix of a Godzilla and a Dragon? Awesome!!!

Hey, you also get influenced by TV shows and movies? I thought I was the only one!!!
My problem is, when I happen to watch deep romance or deep sentiments, live or on screen…I CRY!!! :-(
I would put myself in the situation! I know you would now be laughing to glory for having learned this from a guy!
But I am better than my mother because she even makes commentaries!!! :-D

Let me tell you a funny incident that happened when I was in college.
We stayed in a two storied house and we were a group of 8 guys staying and we had 4 bed rooms. The house was quite huge!

One night, I was sitting in my room watching a movie and suddenly I head a big scream from the room on ground floor.
We all rushed in and saw our friend running around in circles kicking everything on his way (he even kicked the wall!) and he opened the door and ran out!
The scream was so loud that our neighbors woke up and came outside to see what is happening and this guy was running here and suddenly he stopped and stood still!
We really got scared and then this guy walks into the house as if nothing has happened!
After coming back, we asked him what happened and then he started narrating.
He was sleeping and in his dreams he was chased by some animal. He managed to escape and he was hiding inside a cave and suddenly there was a huge snake on his leg.
It was at this time that he turned. His bed linen got pulled out and rolled over his leg! He felt like the snake really got him and that’s why he got up and ran!

You see…dreams can be dangerous at times!
So next time before you go to sleep, watch some cartoons or maybe romantic movies! ;-)

  3. @Arun

Gosh! that was one kind of an incident. For me I usually do all the running and kicking stuff in my dreams only (thankfully!).

As far as a guy crying on emotional scenes is concerned, I didn't laugh (Really!). My dad cries a lot on all the emotional scenes. And, at my home, it is me who makes commentaries :D. I simply can not tolerate those Star TV soaps...and my parents watch almost everything on star plus and colors.

  4. Lol. I totally agree to your point!
There was a time when they used to publish articles in magazines and papers about ‘Internet – A boon or a curse’. They even used to bring up this topic for discussions everywhere.
For the same reason I had to make a huge fight for getting an internet connection at home some years back. You won’t believe when I say that once I even walked out from home!
Not a big deal because I returned back after two hours. I was feeling hungry! :-(

The point is; it’s already proved that they can inject thoughts, good or bad into human minds and if it were the news papers and magazines few years back…now it’s the television!
Over past few years, televisions have literally become idiot boxes! I watch only football matches on the TV these days! I don’t even watch news! Oh by the way…the last time I saw news on the TV was when Pope John Paul II died and the last time I read the newspapers was when Saddam Hussein was killed! I really liked those fellows! :-D
My friends used to make fun of me by saying if I am offered Vada Paav packed in a newspaper; I would request to put the Vada Paav in my hands because I am allergic to newspapers! :-D
But people are really crazy you know. I guess it not only with your folks but my mother and her mother are huge serial buffs!
These days when they go to attend marriages or when they meet people at public places, they tend to discuss more about serial characters and what situations they were under in the last episode.
I felt so pathetic when I heard some ladies talk about some tragic events in a serial. Pathetic because I happened to hear them speak when I was inside a temple!!! X-(
Now you would ask me how I came to know its serial stuffs that they were discussing. Well, brings a bit of shame to tell you that my aunt was one of those ladies!
Even the reality shows…god know what all ideas they come up with!
‘Rahul ka swayamvar’ ‘Rakhi ka swayamvar’??? Come on…how can the society accept such kind of bakwaas? It’s like you are selling yourself to impress someone! Jesus…I can’t believe that people have become so dumb!

Ahh…this is my problem! I start talking and I never stop! I am so sorry for eating your blog space to post my stupid views!!! :-/

  6. Lol..thats ok..My blog is anyways made for simple ramblings and thought process. You are free to write anything, anywhere; it would always connect somehow. And yes, I also stopped reading newspaper long time back. I can't tolerate those blaring headings which they call "breaking news", and has nothing but crazy and depressing things to tell.
